We’re back

After the saddest days of my life, we’re back. My grandma didn’t have enough strength left in her to battle the pneumonia that appeared in her second day in hospital, and then a multiple organ failure took her away from us. It was extremely hard, but at the same time it was nice to see [...]

Volunteering

I’m so angry I don’t know where to start.
I got a call last week from an NGO I’ve collaborated with before offering my interpreting services for free and later finding out that that congress had a high budget that was spent in fancy catering and paying expensive acomodation to the speakers. That, I didn’t like. [...]

Alexander Technique

As you may or may not know, I am an interpreter. Well, I’m a translator and interpreter, but some day I would like to ditch that first part and work exclusively interpreting. Yeah, girl, keep dreaming. Anyway, when I saw that there was going to be an Alexander Technique course (6 sessions) for Interpreters at [...]

Will I ever feel better?

101F, cough, total unability to breath, headache, general body ache.
I’m hating fall big time!

Daily procrastination

I’m having a very hard time working from  home (i.e. never ever going outside!) and I really can’t focus enough to work. Really hard for me. Here’s what our day looks like:
Eric works from 8.30AM until 6.15PM with a lunch break. He gets home around 6:40PM. And now he’s following an online course on something [...]

Motionless

I’m slow today. Slow working, slow blogging, slow everything. Because I can’t move from the sofa. The reason is too private to share (nothing exciting, but nothing you’d want to hear anyway). But whatever, I just got a frugal haircut I wanted to share. Ok, just new bangs. Here you have a before shot. And [...]

Good bye, wonder car!

We said goodbye to my car yesterday. It was sad, but right (and green! and frugal!).
My dad bought it second hand and used it as a taxi (my dad owns a taxi company) before giving it to me. I’ve had it for about 3 years now, and I’m not going to be its last owner, [...]

Just met our nephew!

Just a quick update, we’re spending the weekend (our last weekend with two cars, we’ll tell you about that on monday) over at my aunt and uncle’s. Ten years ago, they were foster parents to a 16yo girl. They never adopted, but she turned 18 still living with them, and as of today she considers [...]

No blogging today

Stiff neck, hurting back, head about to explode… No more computer time for me today.
Just a reminder to the 600+ visitors that have landed here over the last couple of days: don’t be shy! say hello! All we new bloggers want is to believe there’s someone, at least one person out there, who reads us. [...]

Writing from Andorra!

Hello all, dear readers.
We’re in the middle (literally!) of our trip, but didn’t want to leave you without a little update. We’re doing really well in terms of budget, and having lots and lots of fun. Andorra is beautiful in fall, the colours of the mountains… well, everything, it’s just incredibly beautiful and you’ll have [...]
